FOUNDATION
The undergraduate Foundation program is a mandatory stage within the British higher education system, located after the high school stage and before the three-year undergraduate stage, with a study period of one year, equivalent to the first year of a university in China. The undergraduate Foundation course is mainly aimed at students who have already obtained a high school or equivalent education in China. It teaches the basic knowledge and skills of art and design, enabling students to gain a preliminary understanding of the subject, change traditional learning methods, understand the characteristics of British education in advance, and carry out corresponding practice, in preparation for choosing a major in the upcoming undergraduate stage in the UK.
This undergraduate Foundation program is the only directly affiliated Foundation program of the School of Art and Design at Birmingham City University in China.
